Many Join Congress at Chettimani Kundachery Zone Meeting

Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor and Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna called upon party workers to create awareness about state government development works and strengthen the Congress organisation ahead of the Gram Panchayat elections.

He was speaking at the Chettimani Kundachery Zone Congress workers’ meeting held at Shadi Mahal Community Hall. Ponnanna said several development works were underway in the district and urged party workers to remain united.

KPCC member Bekal Ramanathcriticised the Centre’s stance on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and announced protests at the zone, block and district levels.

Chettimani Kundachery Zone President Harish K.M. presided over the meeting. DCC member Harris delivered the introductory address.

MLA Ponnanna and outgoing president Kedambadi Harish were felicitated for prioritising development works and addressing the Jammabane issue in Kodagu.

Senior leaders including Indumati Rani, former Panchayat President H.J. Lalitha, VSSN Director Lolakshi Reena, and others joined the Congress.

MLA Ponnanna and District Congress President Dharmaja Uthappa welcomed them by presenting the party flag.

Several party leaders and office-bearers were present.
