Member of Parliament Yaduveer Wodeyar has alleged that the Congress-led state government is deliberately obstructing the implementation of pro-people schemes introduced by the Central Government.

Addressing a press conference in Madikeri, he said that the state government is opposing several development initiatives merely because they bring recognition to the Central Government. He alleged that the Congress government is following anti-people policies and is intentionally hindering development projects.

Referring to the G RAM G scheme, Yaduveer Wodeyar stated that the scheme would empower and strengthen gram panchayats. He alleged that the state government is opposing it on the grounds that it would enhance the image of the Central Government.

He said the Central Government respects Mahatma Gandhi not merely in name but by implementing his ideals. The concept of Viksit Bharat, he said, aligns with Gandhiji’s dream of Gram Swaraj. In contrast, he alleged, the state government is using Gandhiji’s name without implementing his principles.

District BJP President Napanda Ravikallappa stated that most gram panchayats in Kodagu district have agreed to implement the Jee Ram Jee scheme, and villagers are convinced that it will bring more development to rural areas.

He further informed that the district BJP will organize a conference in Madikeri in support of the scheme and will work to educate people against what he termed as propaganda by the state Congress government.

State BJP Kisan Morcha leader Dr. B.C. Naveen Kumar said the scheme would strengthen coordination between the Central Government and gram panchayats and contribute to rural development.

Dr. Naveen Asadhana stated that the project would be implemented with Gram Sabha approval and funding from both Central and State Governments, and alleged that the Congress party’s opposition to the scheme was unjustified.

District BJP General Secretary Mahesh Jaini, spokesperson B.K. Arun Kumar, and Madikeri City BJP President Umesh Subrahmani were present at the press conference.
