The District Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee has decided to revise the taluk-wise list of directors selected for the Grihalakshmi Multipurpose Cooperative Society.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at Z.P.KDP Hall under the chairmanship of District Committee President Teethira Dharmaja Uthappa.
Kushalnagar Taluk Committee President V.P. Shashidhar raised objections, stating that the list had been forwarded without consulting taluk and district committee presidents.
Responding to the concerns, Uthappa said omissions would be reviewed but stressed that lists must be prepared in consultation with district and taluk leadership. Members strongly objected to unilateral preparation of lists by officials. Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Prasanna Kumar clarified that membership requires a registration fee of Rs1,000 and that the list was prepared based on information submitted by taluk-level child welfare officers. He added that 50 directors were proposed from each taluk.
Several members also raised concerns regarding ration card classification errors and Anganwadi recruitment priorities. District Employment Exchange Officer Manjunath informed the committee that Rs 438.87 lakh has been disbursed under the Youth Fund scheme to 1,649 beneficiaries in the district.
Officials also reviewed the progress of the Graha Jyothi and Shakti schemes.
