Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti to be celebrated on Jan 23

The Thalthamane Netaji Yuvaka Mandal and Yuvati Mandal, in association with Mai Bharat Kodagu, the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, Kannada and Culture Department, and Taluk Yuva Koota, will organize celebrations marking the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the 34th anniversary of the Mandals on January 23 at the Thalthamane playground in Madikeri taluk.

The celebrations will include a district-level men’s volleyball tournament, district-level women’s tug-of-war competition, marathon, and a district-level cultural programme.

 The inaugural ceremony will be held at 9.30 a.m. on January 23. 

Talattamane Netaji Yuvaka Mandal President Kondira P. Karyappa, advocate and farmer Movera Shambhu Subbaiah, retired nursing superintendent A.S. Mary Magdalene, S.H.P. School headmaster B.A. Bharathi, and Bhagwati Hollow Bricks and Transports proprietor B.S. Anand will participate.

The valedictory ceremony will be held at 5.30 p.m. Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor and MLA A.S. Ponnanna, MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda, Karnataka State Sports Authority Vice-Chairman C.S. Arun Machaya, Additional Superintendent of Police Barike P. Dinesh Kumar and others will be present.
