Comments:

The ship model of I N S Shivalik, was presented by the Indian Navy at the behest of Rear Admiral I. B. Uthaiah, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), when he was in service. It is currently undergoing repainting at the Thimayya Museum.

In addition, efforts have now been initiated by Rear Admiral Uthaiah (Retd.), to have the installation of a glass roof and a protective enclosure around the exhibit. The proposed structure is intended to safeguard the ship model from weather-related damage as well as potential vandalism by visitors.

This was stated by Major B. A. Nanjappa, Convenor of the Field Marshal Cariappa–General Thimayya Forum (FMCGTF).

Rear Admiral Uthaiah retired from the Indian Navy in July 2024 as Director General of the Warship Design Bureau. He is presently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Ltd.
