The Department of Pre-University Education, Bengaluru, in association with Kodagu University, organised the State-Level Shuttle Badminton Tournament at the District Stadium, Madikeri, on November 28 and 29, 2025.
In the boys’ category, Mysuru clinched the title, defeating Hassan 2–0 in the finals. The Mysuru team comprised Arav Raghuvanshi, Manish, Gaurav R., Apparanda Thanav Poovanna, and Samith Hegde.
In the girls’ category, Bengaluru South emerged champions, beating Mysuru 2–0 in the final match. The Bengaluru South team included Lakshya Rajesh, Tanika Mohan, Kalandika, and Vidyashree A.P. The Mysuru girls’ team consisted of B. Diya Bheemaiah, Ruthie M.P., Ananya Lobo, Narayani, and Sinchana.
Notably, B. Diya Bheemaiah and Arav Raghuvanshi of Vidyaashram College, Mysuru, have been selected to represent Karnataka at the SGFI National Tournament to be held in New Delhi in January 2026.
A total of 330 players from 33 districts participated in the event. The victory marks a significant achievement for Mysuru, which secured the boys’ title after 23 years.
Three players from Kodagu, Boppanda Diya Bheemaiah, Mukkatira Ruthie Ponnappa, and Apparanda Thanav Poovanna, were part of the Mysuru contingent.
