Trades Scheme Beneficial for Small and Micro Businesses: Nagendra Prasad

The Trade Receivables Discounting System (TRADS) offers significant benefits to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), said Kodagu District Chamber of Commerce President B.R. Nagendra Prasad. He was speaking at an awareness workshop held at Hotel Redbricks under the RAMP scheme for the year 2025-26.

He emphasised the vital role of industries in generating employment and urged traders and entrepreneurs to register on the TRADS portal to access financial benefits.

Speakers from various departments, including Texac CEO Siddharaju, Lead Bank Manager Gangadhar Nayak, and Joint Director of the District Industries Centre Hanumantharaya-highlighted multiple bank-linked schemes, interest subsidies, and special financial support for women, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs, and minority communities.

Training was conducted by R.K. Balachandra, retired lead bank manager. Officers from the Industries Department and local organizations were present.
