The Karnataka Legislative Assembly’s Review Committee meeting on the Karnataka Land Revenue (Second Amendment) Bill, 2025, was held today at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Revenue Minister of Karnataka and Chairman of the Review Committee, Krishna Byre Gowda. All committee members were present.
Hon’ble MLA of the Virajpet Assembly Constituency and Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister, Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna, also attended.
The Review Committee was formed during the previous Legislative Assembly session following the request of Virajpet MLA A. S. Ponnanna and Madikeri MLA Manthar Gowda.
The long-pending issue of finding a permanent solution to the Pattedar land problem in Kodagu district was discussed for the third time. MLA A. S. Ponnanna suggested that certain amendments that could negatively affect the people of Kodagu should be dropped and that rules should be framed in a manner that benefits the residents who have been facing revenue-related issues for decades.
Several other important decisions were taken at the meeting. Kodagu District Officer Venkat Raja and senior Revenue Department officials also participated.
