The Madikeri Lions Club, which has been continuously engaged in social service for the past 60 years, celebrated its Diamond Jubilee recently. On this occasion, Lions District Governor Kudupi Aravind Shenoy paid an official visit and expressed his appreciation for the club’s progress and social commitment.
Speaking at the celebration held at the Madikeri Kodava Samaj auditorium, Governor Aravind Shenoy lauded the senior members of the Lions organization who continue to occupy various positions and engage actively in social service. He also commended the functioning of the Lions Clubs of Suntikoppa, Kushalnagar, and Somwarpet, which, along with Madikeri, have set a model for society.

In memory of the late founder secretary Lion Kodandera M. Bopaiah, his daughter Pattamada Kavita Muthanna was honoured with a posthumous citation. As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration, all past presidents of the Madikeri Lions Club were felicitated.
The event was attended by Madikeri Lions Club President B. B. Madan Madaiah, Kushalnagar Lions Club President Narayan, Somwarpet Lions Club President Ramashetty, Suntikoppa Lions Club President Rakshit Chettimada, Madikeri Organization Secretary K. Madhukar, Treasurer K. K. Damodar, Provincial President Dr. Pancham Thimmaiah, Secretary Lion Chandregowda, Additional Treasurer Lion B. B. Ashok Kumar, Lions District 317D Lieutenant Governor Lion Goverdhan Shetty, District Ambassador Mohandas, Provincial Ambassador Naveen Ambekallu, and several others.

On this occasion, 10 chairs were donated by the Lions to an Anganwadi Centre. The prayer was conducted by Geetha Madhukar and her group. District Governor Aravind Shenoy was introduced by Anjali Yashodhar Poojary. M. A. Niranjan recounted 60 years of the Lions Club’s history, and Secretary Madhukar K. proposed the vote of thanks.
