Joint Director Visits Chennayankaote Gram Panchayat

Anita, Joint Director of the Rural Development Commissionerate, visited Chennayankaote G P in Virajpet taluk of Kodagu district recently.

She visited the Panchayat as part of the Kayaka Grama programme to receive adoption from senior officials and to inspect works developed under various government schemes. Later, she visited the Chennangi Ashram School under Chennayankaote Gram Panchayat and inspected the basic facilities of the school. She also interacted with the girl students to understand their skill development activities.

Objective of Kayaka Grama: The programme aims to select Gram Panchayats that lag behind in the Panchayat Performance Ranking prepared by the e-Governance Division of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and develop them comprehensively through effective implementation of government programmes, improved Panchayat functioning, regular meetings, and better tax collection.

Panchayat Development Officer Prakash, NREGA Taluk Coordinator Narendra, Taluk MIS Coordinator Karthik, and Panchayat staff were present.
