An Italian Aerospace and Space Delegation visited the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Application Centre (KSRSAC) on September 24, 2025, as part of the Italy-India Space, Aerospace and Defence Roadshow.
During the visit, Dr. Rajesh N.L., Director of KSRSAC, highlighted the Centre’s mission, advanced capabilities, and diverse applications in space-based governance and sustainable development, covering areas such as crop monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, and natural resource management.
Pramod L. Patil, General Manager of KITS, outlined the key points of the draft Karnataka Space Policy and reiterated Karnataka’s position as a global hub of space-based technologies.

The programme, facilitated under the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) of the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, focused on enhancing cooperation in space applications, aerospace technologies, and defence innovations.
The discussions included strengthening India-Italy collaboration through joint research, academic exchanges, talent development, and co-development of industrial technologies. The aim is to expand market access, promote innovation, and position Karnataka as a strategic partner for Italy in space and aerospace sectors.
The visit was described as a milestone in advancing the India-Italy partnership while enhancing Karnataka’s global role in space and innovation.
The Italian delegation included Maria Chiara Noto, Deputy Director of the Italian Space Agency; Antonietta Baccanari, Italian Trade Commissioner in New Delhi; Giandomeno Milano, Consul General of Italy in Bengaluru; along with representatives of leading Italian space and aerospace companies.
