Appeal for registration of artistic talent from the Department of Kannada and Culture

The Department of Kannada and Culture has organized Kala Pratibhootsava to identify and encourage the artistic talent of children and youth and to help them improve their artistic skills. This festival will be held on 09-10-2025 and 10-10-2025 at Gandhi Bhavan, Madikeri.

Competitions will be organized in three categories under the titles Bal Pratibh, Kishora Pratibh, and Yuva Pratibh. These competitions will be conducted on 09-10-2025 for Bal Pratibh and Kishora Pratibh, and on 10-10-2025 for Yuva Pratibh and group competitions. The first, second, and third place winners at the district level will be selected and sent to the zonal-level competition.

Eligibility:

Child Talent: Candidates must be at least 8 years old and less than 14 years old. Each candidate must submit a school certificate for age verification. If the candidate is not enrolled in a school, a certificate from the Panchayat, City Municipal Council, Municipality, or Taluk office must be submitted.

Teen Talent: Candidates must be at least 14 years old and less than 18 years old. A certificate from the school or college is required for age verification. If not enrolled, a certificate from the Panchayat, City Municipal Council, Municipality, or Taluk office must be submitted.

Youth Talent: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and less than 30 years old. A certificate from the college is required for age verification. If not enrolled, a certificate from the Panchayat, City Municipal Council, Municipality, or Taluk office must be submitted.

Group Competitions: Teams must have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 members.

Solo Competitions:

Child Talent/Teen Talent: Classical Dance (10 minutes), Light Music (7 minutes), Painting (120 minutes), Folk Song (7 minutes), Hindustani/Carnatic Instrumental Music (7 minutes), Hindustani/Carnatic Classical Music (7 minutes).

Youth Talent: My Favourite Writer (Welcome Speech) (7 minutes), Classical Dance (10 minutes), Light Music (7 minutes), Hindustani/Carnatic Classical Music (7 minutes), Painting (120 minutes), Hindustani/Carnatic Instrumental Music (7 minutes).

Group Competitions: Drama (45 minutes).

One person who secures first place in each art form of Child Talent, Teen Talent, Youth Talent and Drama Competitions at the district level will be sent to the relevant zonal level. All contestants at the district level will receive certificates.
