Jayanthi Shetty Calls for Disciplined Life
Social worker Jayanthi Shetty inaugurated the Madikeri division’s Patriotic Gita Singing Competition, organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides Local Organization at the Scouts and Guides Bhavan.

In her address, she emphasized the importance of discipline in achieving academic goals. She observed that participation in organizations such as Scouts and Guides, Seva Dal, NCC and sports nurtures discipline among students, which helps them throughout life. Recalling her student days, she assured her continued support to such initiatives and encouraged students to engage in both academics and extracurricular activities. District Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, K.T. Baby Mathew, urged students to cultivate patriotism and discipline. President of the Madikeri Scouts and Guides Local Organization, Eeramanda Harini Vijay, said that today’s children are future citizens and called upon students to imbibe patriotism for the nation’s progress.

The winners of the competition were announced as follows:
Scouts Category: St. Michael’s School (first), St. Joseph’s School (second).
Guides Category: St. Joseph’s School ‘B’ Team (first), St. Michael’s School English Medium Section (second).
Bulbul Category: St. Joseph’s School (first)

Senior artist and writer Shobha Subbaiah, retired head teacher and singer Prema Krishnappa served as judges.
