Police have seized a pressure mid speaker and five vehicles for violating rules on noise limits during the Ganesh Visarjanotsava in Kushalnagar.

According to Kodagu Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan, the noise levels during the procession exceeded the permissible limit prescribed under the Noise Pollution Control Act. A case has been registered against the drivers of five vehicles that used pressure mid speakers, and further action is being taken.

Despite prior instructions not to use such high-volume sound systems, vehicles with pressure mid speakers were deployed during the event, he added.
