Diya Bheemaiah Reaches Finals of South Zone Badminton Championship

Diya Bheemaiah has entered the finals of the Yonex Sunrise 79th South Zone Inter-State Individual Badminton Championship 2025, being held at the Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad.

Diya began her campaign with a strong win against Jananika R of Puducherry in the pre-quarterfinals, defeating her 21-10, 22-20. In the quarterfinals, she overcame the challenge of top seed Rishitha Pandey of Telangana with a fighting 16-21, 21-15, 21-12 victory. Continuing her winning momentum in the semifinals, she defeated Tamil Nadu’s Aadhira Rajkumar 14-21, 21-17, 21-18 to book her place in the summit clash.

She will now face the second seed, Karnataka’s own Shaina Manimuthu, in the final.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka Girls’ Team secured third place in the Team Championship event.
