Assam-based man arrested for theft of 32 Mobile Phones in Gonikoppa

Kodagu Police have arrested an Assam native, Johur Ali (28), accused of stealing 32 new mobile phones and Rs. 3,000 in cash from a shop under Gonikoppa Police Station limits.

According to reports, on August 24, a complaint was filed regarding the theft of 32 new mobile phones of various brands and cash from a shop in Gonikoppa town. Police swiftly investigated the case and arrested the accused within three days.

The accused, a resident of Tegur village in Chikkamagaluru district and originally from Assam, was taken into custody. Police successfully recovered all 32 stolen mobile phones. The operation was conducted by a special investigation team led by Virajpet Sub-Division DySP Mahesh Kumar S, comprising Gonikoppa CPI Shivaraj R. Mudhol, PSI Pradeep Kumar B.K., and staff.

Kodagu District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan praised the team for their swift and efficient work.
