A taluk bandh called by the Farmers’ Struggle Committee brought Somwarpet to a standstill, with farmers demanding immediate resolution of the C&D land issue.

Protesters gathered near Vivekananda Circle, blocking vehicular movement. Shops remained shut, buses and private vehicles stayed off the roads, and only a few passengers were seen at the KSRTC bus stand.

Tahsildar Krishna Murthy and RFO Shailendra Kumar were surrounded by protesters, who demanded the presence of the District Magistrate and Chief Conservator of Forests on-site.

Thousands of farmers from rural areas participated. Leaders Chakravarthy Suresh, B.J. Deepak, Mithan Haraga, Baggana Anil, Diwakar Kooti, Dinesh, Harapalli Ravindra, and Appachchu Ranjan (former MLA) addressed the gathering.
