Member of Parliament Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar visited and inspected the cracked retaining wall along National Highway 275 near Madikeri. The site has raised concerns over public safety, particularly for five families residing below the compromised structure. The MP reviewed the situation alongside district officials and emphasized the urgent need for enhanced highway safety measures.
He directed engineers to exercise extra caution and take all necessary precautionary steps to prevent further deterioration. “Public movement and safety are of the highest priority,” the MP stated, adding that the safety of the five families living below the retaining wall must also be addressed. He instructed that appropriate action be taken to safeguard the affected residents. Speaking to reporters, MP Yaduveer explained that the retaining wall had been constructed by the National Highways Department. The five vulnerable families have since been temporarily relocated to a care center, and further instructions have been issued to ensure their continued safety.

Kalavathi, Vice President Mahesh Jaini, councillors Subramani and Sabita, Tahsildar Sridhar, Assistant Executive Engineer (Highways) Girish, Municipal Commissioner Ramesh, local residents, and other officials.
