NIA Nabs Somwarpet Resident Linked to Nettaru Murder Case in Kerala

Abdul Rehman, a resident of Somwarpet taluk, who had provided shelter to key accused in the Praveen Nettaru murder case, has been arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials at an airport in Kerala.

Abdul Rehman, a resident of Kalkandur village in Somwarpet taluk, had fled abroad after the murder and was hiding in Doha, Qatar. A Look Out Notice had been issued for all the absconding accused in the case. The Karnataka Home Department had also announced a cash reward for those providing information about them.

Rehman was reportedly serving as a secretary in the banned organization PFI (Popular Front of India). After his arrest, NIA officials produced him before the NIA special court in Bengaluru and have taken him back into their custody for further investigation.
