At a program titled “Emergency: 50 Years of Congress’ Dark History” organized by the Kodagu District BJP, spokesperson Ashwath Narayan compared the 1975 Emergency under Indira Gandhi to the present Congress-led state government’s actions.

He accused the current administration of suppressing opposition voices and registering cases against BJP members.

Former MLA Appachu Ranjan recalled the arrest of leaders during the Emergency and urged BJP workers to highlight what he termed as Congress misrule.

District President Napanda Ravi Kalappa, Municipal Council President Kalavati, and several party leaders were present. Booth, Mandal, and Shakti Kendra leaders and workers also participated in large numbers.
