(DIPR): As of 8:30 am on June 30, Kodagu district recorded an average rainfall of 4.72 mm over the past 24 hours. This is lower compared to 12.05 mm on the same day last year. However, the cumulative rainfall from January to date stands at 1408.49 mm, significantly higher than 787.55 mm recorded during the same period last year.

  • Virajpet: 1.20 mm (Last year: 15.20 mm); Cumulative: 1410.55 mm (Last year: 782.60 mm)

  • Ponnampet: 7.41 mm (Last year: 10.70 mm); Cumulative: 1385.91 mm (Last year: 798.08 mm)

  • Somwarpet: 8.30 mm (Last year: 10.60 mm); Cumulative: 1462.49 mm (Last year: 610.71 mm)

  • Kushalnagar: 0.70 mm (Last year: 3.30 mm); Cumulative: 761.94 mm (Last year: 585.70 mm)

  • Inflow Today: 3375 cusecs (Last year: 1216 cusecs)

  • Outflow to River Today: 2500 cusecs (Last year: 200 cusecs)

While today’s rainfall across the district is lower compared to the same day last year, the cumulative rainfall for the year so far is significantly higher. Water levels in the Harangi reservoir are also higher, and both inflow and outflow have increased considerably compared to the same period last year.
