Comments:

As part of a state-wide protest by the Karnataka State Civil Servants’ Service Association, municipal employees in Virajpet had refused to report for duty.

MLA A.S. Ponnanna visited the protest site, heard the employees’ grievances, and assured them that he will do his best to address their grievances. When workers initially refused to resume duties, the MLA personally began cleaning the premises, which had an emotional effect and prompted the sanitation workers to return to work.

Dharmaja Uthappa, District President of the Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee, Block Congress President Pattada Ranji Poonacha, and local municipal leaders were present during the negotiations.
