In meeting of BJP core committee which was held recently, it was decided to elect Kalavati as new president while Mahesh Jaini elected as vice president
Shweta Prashanth, Usha Kaverappa, Sabita, Savita Rakesh, who were aspirants for the post of president, were deeply disappointed. K.S. Ramesh, who was also aspirant for the post of vice president was also disappointed. The core committee finally elected Kalavati and Mahesh Jaini.
The core committee included BJP leaders, including MP Yaduveer Wodeyar, former MLAs K.G. Bopaiah, MP Appachchu Ranjan, District President Napanda Ravi Kalappa
The official announcement of the selection process were made by the Assistant Commissioner.
