Mandepanda declared winners

A well organized Muddanda Hockey festival came to an end with the finals on the Sunday, 27th. For the finals, the stadium was jam packed eagerly waiting to witness the clash between Mandepanda and Chendanada. Unfortunately, the match which was scheduled to start at 11.00 AM, commenced after 2.00 PM.

Mandepanda converted a penalty corner at 2.37 pm. And by 2.46 pm it started to rain, sending the audience helter-skelter and the hockey field drenched. Though the rains did stop after a while, the hockey field was too wet and puddles had formed, making it unsuitable for a match.

The match was called off and as per the rules of tournament, Mandepanda were declared the winners. Spectators who came to witness a close fought match, were left dejected due to the same.
