It is mandatory for societies registered under Section (8) of the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 to submit their annual accounts to the Registrar’s Office within 14 days of the Annual General Meeting.
However, many societies in the district have not filed their accounts for more than 05 years. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Karnataka State, Bangalore has issued a circular allowing such societies to file again along with a fine .
Societies that have not filed for more than 5 years should file by paying an additional fine of Rs. 3,000 per year.
