Congress leader Bottolanda Mittoo Chengappa passed away at  a private hospital in Ammathi, yesterday. He was 83. Chengappa has been in politics and a staunch Congress supporter for 5 decades.

District Congress President Teetira Dharmaj Uthappa informed media persons that arrangements will be made for the public to view the body and pay final respects to Mittoo Changappa at Gandhi Maidan, Madikeri on 25th April, from 10 am to 1 pm.

Dr. G. Parameshwar and Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda had paid a visit last year to Chengappa’s house at Kushalnagar, inquiring about his health and well being.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, DCM D.K. Shivakumar, Home Minister G. Parameshwar, Minister Dinesh Gundurao, MLAs A.S. Ponnanna and Dr. Manthar Gowda have conveyed their condolences are deeply saddened by Chengappa’s death.

Chengappa was known for his close association with Indira Gandhi, Gundu Rao, S.M. Krishna,  C M Siddaramaiah, D. K. Shivakumar, Dr. G. Parameshwar, and others.
