The Police Flag Day Celebration and Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Trophy presentation  ceremony was recently  held by the Kodagu District Police  at the Madikeri  Police Parade Ground.

Air Marshal (Retd) K.C. Cariappa presented the Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Trophy to K.S. Sudheesh Kumar, who is working as a Head Constable at Somwarpet Police Station.

Kodagu District Superintendent of Police K.Ramarajan presented  best police man trophy to Manmohan, who is working as a Head Constable in the Dog  Squad at the district headquarters, Madikeri, for his excellent service.

Retired police inspector Umesh Uppalike, who participated as a special guest on the occasion of Police Flag Day, received the guard of honour and  said that the duty of officers and staff at all levels of the police department is important for peace and tranquillity in the society.

The profession of the police is to be alert  24 hours a day, which will  help to build a better society and maintain peace and order, he said.

Speaking further he  advised that the police who were alert on duty every day should also focus on the education of their  children and  make them  good citizens of  the society.

Air Marshal (Retd) K.C. Cariappa  who spoke on the occasion  said that discipline, loyalty and honesty are very important in the duty of the police. In addition, efficiency should be in every police officer, then  only peace and law and order can be maintained in the society.

Speaking further Air Marshal (Retd) K.C. Cariappa said that  it is admirable that the police personals  at all levels of the Kodagu district are working with a sense of duty. The police detect criminal cases every day in one way or the other .  Even in challenging and difficult situations, the police ensure that  the culprits will be punished and this is a  very commendable work.

District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan spoke and said that peace, tranquility and coexistence are essential in the society. In this regard, the role of the police is important in maintaining peace, law and order.

Retired Superintendent of Police Umesh Uppalike, who participated as the chief guest, received  the guard of honour from  eight police teams that took part in the parade.

The national anthem was played by the police band. Later, the police flag was distributed.

Probationary IPS officer Dr. Benaka Prasad, President of Madikeri Lawyers Association M.A. Nirajana, DySPs P.A. Suraj (Madikeri), Mahesh Kumar (Virajpet), Gangadharappa (Somawarpet), DySP of Cyber Crime Division Ravi, police officers of all levels, leaders of various organizations and others were present on the occasion.
