Now the district administration has taken this seriously and has advised the unregistered homestays to register compulsorily. It has also been informed that legal action will be taken against the homestays operating illegally without registering under the Tourism Department.

Those homestays which  are already operating with a license for five years  from the Tourism Department and whose license period is  being expiring in soon  have been informed to renew the license.

The Tourism Department has issued guidelines for the registration of homestays and has asked them to register on-line through the website https://kttf.karnatakatourism.org/login.

When the authorised Tourism Department officials visit the homestay for inspection, the homestay certificate or the document of application for homestay registration must be presented. Otherwise, legal action will be taken against the owner of the homestay.
