Speaking after arrival at Bhagamandala D.K. Shivakumar (DKS), Deputy Chief Minister (DCM)  informed  the media  regarding Kodagu University,  that  there it has only 27 colleges and only two crores have been allocated for this, which has not been released so far. There are different calculations when it comes to universities. Many children are saying that Mangalore University is better and none of the staff members want to work for Kodagu University and they all have seniority issues. The local MLAs have asked to keep the Kodagu University and DKS told  that the govt,  can not close the any university, they  can only merge  it  with another university. DCM said he will find out  what is the opinion of  the students regarding the  university .The staff members have already given their report. We have kept that in mind also.DCM also said that, for him the future of students is very  important. If a new university is established, there will be  not  be much  recognition for it. Bangalore and Mysore universities have their own  standards over a period of time.
