On the occasion Maha Shivarathri Special prayers and rituals were performed in various temples in Madikeri.
In Omkareshwara Temple, Madikeri a large number of devotees had a darshan of Shiva linga and witnessed grand celebrations, and attended Rudra Homa and Ekadasha Rudrabhisheka. On account of Shivarathri the temple was opened for devotees throughout the night.
People also visited famous Rajarajeshwari Temple in Karnangeri too. The temple also conducted special poojas and a grand ‘Deepotsava’ at night. A large number of devotees visited the Basaveshwara Temple at Mahadevapet and Kannikaparameshwari Temple at Chowk, Madikeri.
A mass feeding was conducted for devotees at Veerabhadra Muneshwara Temple near Dasawala, Madikeri. Programmes was also conducted at Brahmakumari Vishwavidyalaya, Madikeri.
