To,

HONOURABLE MLA/ MP/ MLC,

SUB: REQUEST TO INITIATE PROJECT TO PROTECT AGRICULTURAL LAND IN KODAGU.

Kodagu, with it’s rich cultural heritage and breath taking Natural beauty, is facing numerous challenges related to land ownership and usage. The influx of outsiders buying agricultural land has led to concerns about the loss of local control, cultural erosion and environmental degradation.

As a concerned citizen of Kodagu,  I am  writing to request that you consider implementing a ban on outsiders buying agricultural land in our district, similar to the recent decision made by the state of Uttarakhand banning people from other states purchasing agricultural and Horticultural land in 11 districts.

Inspired by this initiative, I respectfully request you to consider launching a similar project in Kodagu to safeguard our agricultural land for local farmers in the community. I am writing to bring to your attention the urgent need to protect Agricultural land in Kodagu district. This initiative not only preserves the region’s cultural heritage but also protects the local economy by banning outsiders from purchasing agricultural land in kodagu. This further helps in preservation of Natural resource.  By limiting land ownership to locals, we can ensure that Natural resources like water, forests and wildlife habitats are preserved for future generations. By this we can ensure that local communities are not displaced or marginalized by external interests.

By implementing such a ban, we believe that the district administration can help preserve the unique character of kodagu and protect the interests of its native population. This move would also align with the state government’s efforts to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation.

We urge you to consider the long – term benefits of such a policy and take necessary steps to safeguard the future of our beloved District. I believe that your leadership and support would be instrumental in making this project a success. I would be grateful, if you could consider this request and take necessary steps to initiate the project.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
KODANDERA MAMATHA SUBBAIAH.
