K P Ranjith comes from behind to win the coveted open title

38th edition of Coorg Triangular Golf Championship sponsored by Satya Prasad for the 6th time was recently held in Coorg by Mercara Downs Golf Club (MDGC). This unique tournament played over three days in three different golf courses attracted 124 golfers from all over India and abroad. 

The players had to play one day at Coorg Golf Links (CGL), Bittangala, Tata Coffee Golf Course at Polibetta and finally at MDGC. The players had to fight hard in different conditions at different golf courses.  

It was K P Ranjith who held his nerves over three days and won the coveted open stroke play trophy with a gross score of 235. Varun Ganapathy was declared runner up with gross score of 239.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at the club house of MDGC. Chief Guest of the event representing Satya Prasad, Vignesh Hebbar was on the dais along with the captain of the club I K Anil, Hon Secretary of the Club Harish Appanna and Tournament Committee Chairman K.P.Ranjith. 

I K Anil welcomed the gathering and thanked the golfers for participating in such large numbers. He also thanked Satya Prasad for sponsoring the tournament. Vignesh Hebbar spoke on the occasion and highlighted the uniqueness of the tournament. 

K P Ranjith announced the names of the winners. Vignesh Hebbar, I K Anil, Harish Appanna, P E Kalaiah and K A Anil Kumar gave away the prizes. K P Ranjith proposed the vote of thanks.
