Unnathi Aiyappa wins gold and Telapanda Bopanna wins Bronze Medal in SAJA Championship

In the recently concluded the South Asian Junior Athletic Junior Championship (SAJAC) at Chennai Bollanda Unnathi Aiyappa of Kodagu created a record by winning gold medal in 100m hurdles.

Unnathi Aiyappa participated in the women’s 100m hurdles and won a gold medal and brought glory to the state. She is the daughter of National athlete and coach Bollanda Aiyappa and former Olympian Pramila.

Telapanda Bopanna won bronze medal representing the state in men’s 800m race. Telapanda of Bopanna is the son of Dr.Telapanda Kalappa and Rachana of Halugunda village.

Five participants from Karnataka and two from the district participated in this tournament.
