Rs.100 crore released to study and prevent landslides in Western Ghats

As per the continuous request made by Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda to study and prevent landslides in Western Ghats including Kodagu the Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah has released a grant of Rs.100 crore.

Dr. Mantar Gowda drew the attention of the state government about the ongoing landslides in the Western Ghats. Taking this seriously, the CM has allocated Rs 100 crore for the study and prevention programs of the Western Ghats. This was announced on the occasion of the recent Independence Day celebration.

MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda had convinced the need to conduct a scientific study in collaboration with Geological Survey of India and other organizations to prevent landslides in the Western Ghats.
