Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja chairing a meeting of the health department at his office recently directed the Health Department officials to ensure proper treatment to pregnant women, children and mothers at the right time to prevent infant and maternal mortality. He said that care should be taken to protect the health of infants and puerperal women and added that no delay should be done in providing treatment to them. Dr Raja also said that awareness of health should be created in tribal hamlets and health facilities should reach the needy. District RCH Officer Dr Madhusudan said the district has achieved 100 percent progress in the vaccination programme.

District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Satish Kumar, District Surveillance Officer Dr Shrinivas, Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences Dean Dr Vishal Kumar and District Surgeon Dr Nanjundaiah were present among others.
