Dubare Elephant Camp closed temporarily

Due to heavy rains in Kodagu, the water level in Cauvery River has risen significantly and on the backdrop of this the forest department has imposed a ban on the entry of tourists to Dubare elephant camp near Nanjarayapatna in Kushalanagar taluk.

Tourists who were visiting Dubare have to cross Cauvery River to reach camp site. Motorboats have to be relied upon as there is no bridge across the river. Due to the safety of tourists, entry to the Dubare elephant camp is closed for the timebeing. The boating will also be stopped until the water flow recedes.

Earlier Tourists were taken across the river to the elephant camp and brought back by 4 motor boats of the Forest Department now for the time being this service will not be available to tourists due to safety reasons.
