KPA delegation meets Energy Minister K.J. George

Recently the Chairman of the Karnataka Planters Association (KPA) K.G. Rajeev, the Immediate Past Chairman Mahesh Shashidhar and the Assistant Secretary had a Meeting with the Karnataka Hon’ble Energy Minister K.J. George. The Association thanked the minister for having considered their request and providing uninterrupted quality power supply to the Coffee Plantations during the picking/irrigation season.

The association also informed the minister about the plantation industry which has received an unseasonal rains and about shortage of labour which has exacerbated the hardships of the plantation sector.

The Association also submitted a memorandum requesting the minister to review the possibility of declaring activities in Coffee Plantations as a seasonal activity and exempt fix power tariff to the coffee plantations during off season months and charge them only as per the power usage.
