Veteran BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda addressing media persons in Kushalnagar recently said that people from the Vokkaliga community in the state have self-respect and added that the Vokkaliga voters are not the ones who blindly follow any political leader D K Shivakumar, H D Kumaraswamy or me. They think thoroughly and vote those whom they consider as an eligible candidate, he said.
He also said that. One cannot claim that they will snatch a particular vote bank. No leader from the Vokkaliga community has confined himself to a particular caste. Also, the Vokkaliga community should not be limited to a party, he added.
He further said that Rahul Gandhi, who is not fielding Congress candidates in 270 constituencies of the country, has been predicting that the BJP’s strength will be reduced to 150 to 180 seats in the Parliament, which is laughable. Leaders from the parties in the INDI Alliance, which have been contesting in only 10 constituencies, have been claiming themselves to be the prime ministers.
Gowda said that the BJP is the only party, which is contesting in more than 400 constituencies in the country.
DV Sadananda Gowda said whenever the Congress comes to power in the state, there has been a breakdown in the law and order situation. The state has become a haven for bombers and all those who take law into their hands. It is a bad fate for the state when the Congress is in power, he added.
