Kodagu Superintendent of Police (SP) K Ramarajan speaking during the Constitution Awareness Jatha organised by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat (ZP), Social Welfare Department and City Municipal Council (CMC) at Kaveri Kalakshetra in Madikeri recently said that the Indian Constitution propagates equality of all.
He said that Indian citizens have an equal right to live as the Constitution does not discriminate and added that along with fundamental rights, the Constitution has informed on the duties of the citizens.
All should study and know the Constitution. Dr BR Ambedkar is not restricted to a community. He was a great leader and humanist, said the SP. Additional DC BN Veena said it is not possible to imagine a country without a constitution. All should know the laws. Dalit Sangharsha Samithi’s Diwakar said we all enjoy the fruits of the Constitution drafted by Dr BR Ambedkar. Earlier, the Constitution Awareness Jatha, which travelled all over Kodagu for the last 27 days, was accorded a cordial welcome at Raja Seat in Madikeri.
