MONSOON MAGIC

Date:

Comments:

Hanging off the handlebars,
Swerving ’round the curves,
Racing thro’ the misty roads,
As on the monsoon rain pours.

Coffee trees and silver oak
Blurring past the eye,
Paddy fields stretching to meet,
The gray and cloudy sky.

Sclicing thro’ puddles of green,
Splitting them in V shaped spray’s,
Slithering ‘cross the muddy tracks,
Of chocolate mousselike clay.

Kodagu in her monsoon best,
No better a place could be,
No better a journey made than with,
My brothers, my Bonnie and me.

Dr. Ravin Chengappa, September 2025, Kodagu.
