Today, October 15th 2025 is a very important and historical day where history is being created in KODAGU with SWACHA KODAGU – SUNDARA KODAGU Campaign. Hoping this event triggers a huge movement to ensure KODAGU IS CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL ALWAYS. Let this event be the HARBINGER of a WAVE & AWARENESS TO KEEP KODAGU CLEAN ALWAYS.

As per reports gathered from around Kodagu, the support from all quarters of every community has been overwhelming. CLN received many enquiries requesting guidance for volunteers which has been directed to COHERA. Every road has been “adopted” in the Route Map, with contact numbers for volunteers and well wishers.

Way to go – it is soul stirring to see such involvement 👏👏

All our good wishes to TEAM COHERA led by DINESH CARIAPPA.

  1. CLEAN UP KODAGU

Kindly ban the small Rs 10 Juice bottles, 500ml and 1Litre water bottle in Kodagu district. Particularly in Thithimathi highway upto Anechoukur.

Thithimathi surroundings has been littered with water bottles and these small juice bottles. It’s polluting the environment and causing serious hygiene concerns. We request District Administrator to ban these immediately.

  2. Dear Core Committee Members,

    Greetings from Woodstock Resorts, Madikeri!

Thank you for giving us the wonderful opportunity to contribute to Kodagu and its beautiful community.

As part of the Swachh Kodagu Soundara Kodagu initiative, Woodstock Resorts and Bigcup Café successfully completed the campaign stretch from our main gate at Sampigekatte junction to Sudarshan Circle. It was a pleasure to be part of this meaningful endeavor, and we look forward to participating in many more such initiatives that celebrate and uplift our region.

    Warm regards,
    Mr Shamveel

  3. The leadership, strategy and mainly planning of our young, energetic team leader and association President Mr Dinesh is commendable👏👏.

Also appreciate all team members who worked hard to achieve this historic success. Even the support from each and every NGO/organisation was unprecedented.

Thank you all once again 🙏🙏

  4. Firstly, heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful work done in keeping Coorg clean through collective local efforts. To further strengthen waste management in Gonikoppa, we request the following:
    1. Regular wet waste collection: Currently, there is no wet waste collection in many residential areas and layouts in Gonikoppa. Residents are struggling to manage wet waste, as creating pits for disposal is not feasible. Regular collection of both wet and dry waste is urgently needed.
    2. Designated waste disposal areas: Allot proper disposal points with clearly marked segregation bins for dry, wet, and food waste.
    3. Monitoring and enforcement: Implement strict monitoring and encourage locals to report instances of littering to ensure better compliance.

Your continued dedication towards maintaining Coorg’s cleanliness is truly appreciated, and we hope these steps can further enhance the great work already being done.

  5. In the past few days I seriously doubt if there is any other group on whatsapp which is so Energetic, So Active with forwards, Posts, Photos, Videos and comments like this Group. It’s simply been an amazing experience being here on this group. My phone almost crashed trice.

Hoping our major objectives and goals to KEEP KODAGU CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL IS ACHIEVED.

  6. Such a cleaning project has never been done. Our support will always be there for such causes and responsible leadership. This is what we need in Kodagu and Bharat.

  7. SPEECHLESS – ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!

Hats off to COHERA for this exemplary movement of Swach Kodagu, Sundara Kodagu. I find it amazing that everyone from all walks of life – damn the caste census – literally every human stood shoulder-to-shoulder on an unprecedented scale. What a fabulous testament to the human spirit being used in the right manner.

COHERA needs every support to bring Responsible Tourism in all its manifestations to Kodagu.

Cleanliness is a way of life. Every HOME and RESIDENT should practice this so that any littering of garbage is apprehended.

The flip side is – it is the duty of the Government and District Management to have waste processing units. It is absolutely critical. Hope every politician and administrator is listening – this aspect is entirely in their hands

  8. Tata Coffee – Pollibetta, Pollibetta Cultural Association, Pollibetta Credit Cooperative Society and Ganapathy Seva Mithra Mandali, joined hands for Swacha Kodagu💐💐💐. Thank you for giving this opportunity 🙏.

  9. Good morning to All🙏

FMKMCC college gathered garbage of more than 40 bags from Tollgate to College. Thanks to the President & Members of Coorg Hotels & Resorts Association (COHERA) Madikeri for providing garbage bags & gloves to do the noble task.

Once again heartfelt thanks to all for your motivation & active participation to make Swacha & Sundara Kodagu.

  10. A proud day for Kodagu! The Swacha Kodagu – Sundara Kodagu campaign has sparked a powerful community movement. Kudos to all volunteers and organizers—let this mark the beginning of a cleaner, greener future for our beautiful land.

  11. The Clean Kodagu drive seems to be a grand success. When there is discipline and motivation – things work. I smell freshness in the Air. Congratulations.

  12. Great initiative,
Need of the hour to be replicated in every district of India .
Such local initiatives can supplement the Swach Bharat initiatives.

Keeping one’s surroundings clean has many benefits, least of all is a significant reduction in food & water borne infections.
