Acting on public complaints and allegations of negligence by officials and files pending without reason, a Mysore Lokayukta team conducted a surprise raid on the Madikeri Municipal Council office.
A 19-member team, including two DySPs and three inspectors, carried out the operation. Preliminary investigations revealed that several files had been pending for a long time, and irregularities in tenders were also observed.
