Madikeri Police Personnel Dies due to Heart Attack

M.N. Vijaya (47), Head Constable in the Kodagu District Armed Police Force and a resident of Chamarajanagar district, died due to a heart attack.

He was appointed to the Kodagu District Armed Police Force on August 1, 1997, and had served for about 28 years. He was in charge of the Madikeri Police Maithri Bhavan and was working as a police band master. He developed chest pain on the night of August 6 and was admitted to the district hospital, but died without responding to treatment.

The district police department has expressed condolences on his death. District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan, police officers, and staff paid their respects to the family. Vijaya’s last rites were conducted at the Kodagu district police parade ground, after which his body was taken to his hometown, Chamarajanagar.
