A brief recollection – Diya Is an established star in Karnataka’s badminton circuit and a student of Vidyashram College, Mysore.
She delivered an exceptional performance at the recent Junior and Senior State Ranking Tournament held in Mangalore, organized by the Karnataka Badminton Association (KBA). Diya competed across multiple categories, showcasing versatility, stamina, and multi-faceted skill:
🥈 Runner-Up – Ladies Doubles (Senior Category)
🥈 Runner-Up – Under-19 Girls Singles
🥇 Winner – Under-19 Mixed Doubles
These stellar results have further consolidated her position as the Number 1 Ranked Player in Karnataka in her age group — a prestigious ranking earned through consistent excellence, commitment and a rigorous work routine.
Diya’s journey began in Mysore, where she trained under Coach Arun at Sports Park, Mysore, laying a strong technical foundation in the sport. Recognizing her potential, she has now taken a leap forward and is currently undergoing advanced training at Badminton Association of India, Centre of Excellence at Guwahati, sharpening her skills and preparing for recognition at the National-level.
The Karnataka Badminton Association’s ranking tournaments are known for their competitiveness, where entry into specific categories is reserved for top-ranked players. Diya’s ability to maintain and lead the rankings is a testament to her relentless dedication and resilience.
As she continues to grow in stature on the national scene, Diya Bheemaiah stands as a beacon of promise for Karnataka and the Indian badminton community. Her achievements inspire young athletes and bring pride to her college, coaches, and the region she represents.

Finishing your match at 9 PM, then traveling from Mangalore to Mysore, catching a midnight bus to Bangalore, and finally making it to Guwahati for training – hats off to you. That level of commitment is truly rare.
