In the reently concluded SSLC exams, Kodagu district achieved 82.21 per cent result and secured 5th place in the state, compared to the 4th place last year. A total of 6,673 students from the Kodagu district had appeared for the SSLC examination and 5,486 students have passed. The percentage-wise result of the district was also reduced from 91.24 % to 82.21%.
TM Ashray Akkamma from Kavery High School, Virajpet and KC Panchami from Vishwamanava Kuvempu High School, have scored 621 marks, each. Tejas Bheemaiah from Lions High School, Kalthamadu, Virajpet, C M Mohammad Sahil from Jnanajyothi High School, Murunad and KM Samriddhi Achar from Unique Academy, Koodumangaluru have also scored 620 marks each.
Like last year, this year also girls have topped in the SSLC exams . The number of girl students who have passed in the exams is 2,723. In comparison, 2,420 boys have passed the exam. 468 have passed with ‘A+’ grade. 944 students have scored ‘A’ grade, 1,166 students have scored ‘B+’ grade, 1,342 students have secured ‘B’ grade, 1,030 students have scored ‘C+’ grade and 192 students have scored ‘C’ grade.
This year in SSLC exams 26 schools in Kodagu district have achieved 100 per cent results and in the last year 65 schools had achieved 100 per cent results. Of the 26 schools, 11 are government schools and 15 are non-aided schools.
4,172 students are from the rural areas and 970 are from urban regions.
