Byrajanda Biddappa, A highly sought-after chef from Kodagu has taken the culinary world with his blend of Indian heritage and Inter National techniques. In the initially stages of his journey by his mother’s exceptional cooking was an inspiration, motivated Biddappa’s journey to the top which is not conventional.
Biddappa initially pursued aerospace engineering before discovering his true calling in the kitchen. Determined to turn his passion into a profession, Biddappa trained under Chef Kavan Kuttappa and later graduated from the prestigious WGSHA Manipal, one of India’s leading culinary schools.
Training with India’s most celebrated chefs like Shahzad Hussein at O Pedro, Mumbai, and Kavan Kuttappa at Permit Room, Bangalore. To master global cuisines took Biddappa to Paris, where he trained in French cuisine and pastry at the presitigious FERRANDI culinary school . His coveted role as Demi Chef de Partie at the Michelin-starred Les Sources de Cheverny in France. Biddappa is elevated his career at Eleven Madison Park in New York, the world’s only three-Michelin-star vegan restaurant. Renowned as a trailblazer in modern gastronomy, the restaurant is a fitting stage for Biddappa’s talent and innovation.
Biddappa quickly earned experience and a reputation as a rising star. Byrajanda Biddappa working with India’s most celebrated chefs like Shahzad and exciting new Hussein at O Pedro, Mumbai, names in the culinary world, and Kavan Kuttappa cemented his place as one of the top chefs
Biddappa Byrajanda is the son of Byrajanda Naniappa (Retired Additional Commissioner of GST) and Shobha Naniappa (Thamane Muruvanda, Kolthod Baigud).
Biddappa completed his primary education at Vidyaniketan School, Hebbal, Bangalore, and his high school at Coorg Public School, Gonikoppal, Coorg.
He pursued his PUC at Diksha, Bangalore, and later joined RV Engineering College, Bangalore, for Aerospace Engineering. However, his passion for the culinary arts led him to discontinue engineering and enroll at ITC WGSHA, Manipal University, where he graduated in Culinary Arts.
