When you are thankful for what you have, you are always rewarded with more

Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are.

When you realise there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you. When you are discontent, you always want more, more, more! Your desire can never be satisfied.

But when you practice contentment, you can say to yourself: “Oh yes, I already have everything that I really need.” Trade your expectation for appreciation and the world around you changes instantly. Remember: content people don’t always have the best of everything. They make the best of everything. Contentment is not the fulfilment of what you want, but the realisation of what you already have. It unlocks the fullness of life; it turns what we have to enough; it turns denial into acceptance; chaos to order; confusion to clarity. It turns a meal into a feast; a house into a home; a stranger into a friend.

Contentment makes sense of our past, brings peace for the day, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Remember: happiness is not about getting what you want; it is about enjoying what you have. Do not spoil what you have by constantly desiring what you don’t have. Don’t forget that what you actually have now was once among the things you only hoped for.

If outside validation is your only source of nourishment, you will hunger for the rest of your life. Nobody gets everything they want. There will always be something. New problems continue to arise in life. Instead of striving for perfection, strive for contentedness.

Find a way to be happy with what you already have and you’ll always have exactly what you need.

I wish you a very Good Morning. Have a day of contentment.
