Kushalnagar teenager becomes the second Indian to finish on the RMC Asia podium in DD2
Seventeen year old Ammanichanda Tarun Cariappa has created a milestone for Kodagu in international karting by securing third place in the DD2 category at the Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) Asia event held in Malaysia.
A student of Nalanda International Pre-University College, Tarun is the son of Ammanichanda Brijesh Ponnappa and Anju Sansoa. His performance makes him the first person from Kodagu to secure a podium finish at an RMC Asia event in the DD2 category.
Tarun is also only the second Indian driver to achieve a podium finish in the DD2 category at an RMC Asia event, placing him among a select group of Indian drivers to have achieved the feat at the Asian level.
Competing against drivers from across the region, Tarun delivered a strong performance in Malaysia, marking another significant step in his developing motorsport career.
He was supported by KartKrew Motorsports and trained under coaches Ali Awar Hayat and Rahul Moyalan, whose guidance has contributed to his progress in competitive karting.
Based in Kushalnagar, Tarun has been pursuing motorsport alongside his education.
