Diya Bheemaiah, along with her partner Keerthy Manchala, won the silver medal at the Yonex Sunrise Junior International Grand Prix badminton tournament held in Pune. The pair finished second after losing to the Thai duo – Chantharat Marndakul and Pearploy Suttiwarayanon in the final, with scores of 15-21, 11-21.

Earlier this month, she also won the gold medal in the girls doubles event at the Kotak India Junior International Series 2026.
Following her success at the tournament, Diya is now focusing on the upcoming selection trials at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati, scheduled to be held from September 18 to 21. The selection trials assume significance ahead of the BWF World Junior Championships 2026, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from October 11 to 17, 2026.
Diya will now look to continue her strong performances as she prepares for the selection trials and the opportunity to represent India at the prestigious World Junior Championships.

Diya and her brother Vishal are pushing themselves hard to enhance and realise their potential. It would be wonderful if we can contribute as a community to their ongoing success – they need support. Sports is an expensive journey to undertake.
