Bhubaneswar: Karnataka sprinter Unnathi Bollanda delivered an impressive performance at the 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2026, winning the silver medal in the women’s 200 metres and securing qualification for the20th Asian Games 2026 to be held in Nagoya, Japan.

Competing at the Kalinga Stadium, Unnathi clocked an outstanding 23.40 seconds to finish second in the event, comfortably achieving the qualification standard for the Asian Games.

Earlier this season, Unnathi had clinched the women’s 200m title at the Indian Athletics Series-9 in Ludhiana, clocking a lifetime best of 23.66 seconds, a performance that highlighted her steady rise in Indian sprinting.

The achievement marks another significant milestone in the young athlete’s career and adds to her impressive run of performances this season. Her consistent displays on the national circuit have established her as one of Karnataka’s promising sprint talents.
